After Whirlpool purchased Maytag a few years ago, they changed Maytag’s direction, cleaned up their product lineup and focused Ole Blue squarely on
laundry. This of course was Maytag’s bread and butter through the years so it was almost like a return to their brand heritage.
Maytag offers both traditional washers and also is deeply involved in the newer front load category which I’ll examine here.
The Maytag Front Load Washer for Those on a Budget: MHWE200X
Check out the MHWE200X washer which offers 4.0 cu ft of capacity, 10 year limited warranty on parts, and the FreshSpin option which prevents wet clean clothes from developing odor. Price is around $749.
The Maytag Front Load Washer for Those Who Don’t Want an Intro Model but Don’t Want All the Bells and Whistles: MHW6000X
The MHW6000xw represents the middle for Maytag’s frontload washer products. Larger than the MHWE200x as this model offers 5.0 cu ft and according to Maytag promotional literature delivers “the best cleaning in the industry” when compared to leading competitive brand washers running on comparable cycles using default settings. And yes, Maytag offers a limited 10 yr. warranty on this model as well. Price is around $1299.
The Maytag Front Load Washer for Those Who Want Steam:MHW7000X
The MHW7000X is the top of the line entry for Maytag’s front load washers. This unit offers steam, colors, a sound dampening stainless steel drum and 10 year limited warranty. Price is around $1499.
