Electrolux Washer Dryer Analysis, Part II…forgot to mention this

Written by Appliance Dude | February 14th, 2012

A few weeks ago I cut a post detailing the incredible value to be had in the Electrolux steam washers and dryers since they cut prices in early Jan.
While breaking down the differences between the top of the line “70” series and the step down “60” series I forgot to mention one key difference.

Sit back and enjoy…

out of all the things i saw on my informed consumer research–yours finally answered my question! thankyou. i would like to know if there is a rinse & spin cycle only option. also, is it true that if i use a prewash, that the soap i put in for the actual wash cycle is loaded into the prewash and not into the wash cycle? (i always do a prewash without soap just to get dirt loosened). thank you very much debra

Debra, yes there is a rinse/spin only cycle on the 70 series which we own.
As for the pre-wash, I’m not sure exactly when that is loaded in. They do have separate loading areas, but I will ask some folks at ELX for you.
      Cheers!

    Jonathan,

Taking delivery today of ElX eifls60jiw & eimgd60jiw to replace whirlpool duet that only lasted 8 years due to drum bearing failure. Picked EXL over samsung & whirlpool mainly for the availability to reverse the doors to accomodate our laundry room setup. Just recently came across bad press on washer and dryer burning clothes and fires due to lint trapped. Your post from 2/14/12 eased my mine as you stated you own similar units and stated that ELX has addressed the drum issue of beating up clothes. Has ELX addressed the issues with the dryer heat and lint problem and any washer issues. I normally clean out my dryer vent annually. Thank you. Bob
